Walker Antonio (b. USA) is a Virginia-based painter whose work blurs the lines between the real and the surreal, the known and the unknown, and the physical and the psychological. The swirling landscapes and fragmented figures heighten the emotions stirred by memories. Primarily working on a large scale, his material process is both chaotic and controlled, starting off energetically messy and rough, then gradually progressing slowly and meticulously in later stages. Antonio has exhibited his work nationally, with his most recent solo exhibition at the Richardson Family Art Gallery in South Carolina.
